Intro to Photoshop Actions

If you don’t have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, you may not find this post incredibly applicable, but the pictures of my son are pretty cute, so just skip the text and look at the pics!

I am learning to love Photoshop Action Scripts! I knew what they were before, but never realized how easily I could use them or how many free ones there are out there. If you don’t know what an Action Script is, it is basically a set of recorded actions in photoshop, allowing you to perform a set of tasks with one click. Now, if you are Photoshop savvy and want to program your own Actions, you can find instructions all over the internet, but there are so many free ones out there, I find it just as easy to download and use the freebies. Here are some examples of what a one simple click can do:

Edited Photos:
I have so much fun just trying them all out and seeing which one turns out the best.

Here are some sites that have freebie scripts:

If you have any questions, let me know and I’ll try to steer you in the right direction.

  1. Hi, I just saw your post about the Photoshop Actions and I love Photoshop but have never used actions! Anyway I downloaded a ton of them but I was wondering if you remembered what actions you used for the 1st edited pic and the 4th one in your post? I see a ton of pics that seem to have those looks and really want to make my own! Thanks! And I do realize you posted this like forever ago, just wondered if it’s something you regularly use :)
