It’s a sad day in our house today – we’re taking down the Christmas decorations.
Part of me wants to keep them up all year, but part of me is tired of telling the kids to leave the tree alone and is ready to have my living room back.
Here are some of my favs from around our house – one last glimpse before they get packed up and head to the garage.
It’s crazy how bare my house looks once I take it all down – makes me realize I need some more everyday decor. By the way, how do you decorate in January? Snow? Snowmen? It doesn’t snow where I live in Arizona, so it seems kinda funny to decorate with snowmen/snowflakes – it was almost 70 degrees here today!
Maybe I’ll go with a New Year theme – I could always use this printable I designed yesterday or some of the ones from my Etsy shop.
I know my blogging has been sporadic at best – more like non-existent over this last year. It’s amazing what having a third child does to turn your life upside down! I am setting some goals for the blog for 2014 and hoping to get into a better routine – I miss blogging!
So, to start off the year – I thought I’d give away a free New Year’s printable!
and a white version

Cell phone cases. I have always had issues with cell phone cases. I mean, I want my phone to be adorable, but I also want it to be protected – and I don’t want to pay a ton of money. Have you seen the prices of some of those cases?! Yikes. My last iPhone case was from the clearance section at TJMaxx – it said it was supposed to fit my phone, but somehow the camera hole was cut wrong and it covered the flash, so I had to pull it off if I ever wanted to use the flash. Yes, it was pretty ghetto, but it cost me $4!
my new Shutterfly case!
Now, my phone not only has a fully functional flash, but I also get tons of compliments on the case every single day.
It’s a photo iPhone case from Shutterfly and it is so cute. It was super easy to design using the templates on the Shutterfly site and it came in less than a week. I got it a few months ago and was curious to see how it would hold up. My phone gets a lot of use (from the 2 crazy boys who play Angry Birds) and it’s been dropped its fair share of times and this case has held up great. It does exactly what you hope a case will do – protects your phone – this case just looks great while doing it.
Now that we’ve added a new family member, I want to get an update with new family pictures (in these pics, he was still in my tummy). Check them out - I think you’ll love them as much as I do!
I did receive a free product from Shutterfly to review for this post. However, I always give my honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences about products. I would never recommend something I don’t personally love. The views and opinions expressed on this blog are purely the bloggers’ own. There’s nothing worse than seeing a delicious pie at a party and digging in only to realize that it’s a nasty store-bought pie with a terrible crust. I love pies, but I am rarely ever impressed with non-homemade ones. So, when I received the chance to try out some of Mrs. Smith’s Signature Deep Dish pies, I had my doubts.
Mrs. Smith makes 4 different flavors of deep dish pies:
Signature Deep Dish Dutch Apple Pie with Caramel Sauce
Signature Deep Dish Cherry Pie with Butter Fudge Sauce
Signature Deep Dish Peach Pie with Cream Cheese Icing
Signature Deep Dish Pumpkin Pie with Cream Cheese Icing
The biggest disappointment I had with the pies, was that I had a really hard time finding all of the flavors. I went to various Wal-marts and could only find the Cherry pie with butter fudge sauce. Sadly, I was excited about trying the others, but struck out at each location.
The cherry pie was super easy to bake – I even had my 4-year-old help me get it ready so that he could say he baked his own pie. (Preparation included unwrapping, putting foil on a cookie sheet and cutting slits in the crust.)
The pie came out looking delicious and he was so proud of himself. In addition, it turned out delicious! The crust was golden and flakey. The filling was tart and sweet. Everyone in our family gobbled it down very quickly.
It came with a butter fudge sauce, but we didn’t feel like it was absolutely necessary to the flavor of the pie. We prefered it on it’s own with a little bit of whipped cream. One great thing about the pie is that it is even good leftover. I might have even snuck a piece for breakfast this morning….
Luckily, you don’t have to take my word for it – you can try them yourself! Mrs. Smith’s has given me 4 coupons so that you can try each one! Not only do you get to try out all of the deep dish pies, but they have also given a $50 Williams-Sonoma Gift Card! You can pick up any missing kitchen accessories you might need or you could always get a lovely pie pan and switch your store-bought pie into it after baking…then no one will know you didn’t bake it!

So sorry about my lack of link party posts over the last few weeks! Morning sickness has been kicking my booty and I haven’t been on the computer very much. I’ll resume the party when I feel like I have the energy to get on here weekly to post it.
For now, check out my page with all of the parties I participate in, if you’re looking for places to link up your great ideas. I’ll be back soon, promise!
